6. Messages, notifications and updates
- Communication for advertising purposes: Via a variety of channels such as e-mail, SMS, pop-ups, push messages or messaging apps, we may send you marketing content relating to our website, our services and products, to products we offer in cooperation with our partners, and to products and services of third parties. We use the “WebTool” newsletter application developed by Weserve AG, Liebefeld, Switzerland. This software enables us to analyse how recipients use a newsletter and to track the events on our website following thereupon (so-called “heatmaps”). For example, the tool allows us to determine how far down users scroll and which buttons they push how often. Furthermore, the software enables us to gather feedback directly from the users. In this way we receive valuable information that helps us increase the customer-friendliness of our newsletters and website.
7. Cookies
Our website makes various use of so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the browser on your computer. They serve to make our services more user-friendly, more effective and secure. Cookies furthermore enable our systems to identify your browser and to offer specific services. Cookies contain no personal data. However, there is a possibility under certain conditions that a cookie can be associated with a given set of user data.
Our website only uses automatized cookies. We do not try to associate cookies with user profiles in order to gather personal data or to benefit in ways beyond the advantages for the users themselves mentioned above.
You have the option to reject cookies or to set your browser to notify you whenever our website tries to use a cookie. However, this may result in restricted use or availability of some of the features of our website.
More information on cookies and how to block them is available for instance at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/.
8. Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (henceforth “Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and that serve to analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, since IP anonymisation is activated for our website, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and be abbreviated only there.
On behalf of us, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website usage and internet usage to us. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be associated with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting appropriate settings in your browser software; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all features of our website in full. You may also prevent Google's collection and processing of data (including your IP address) generated by the cookie by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
9. Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We use the “Google AdWords” online advertising service and its conversion tracking tool. Google Conversion Tracking is a web analytics service provided by Google. When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your computer. These cookies have a limited lifespan, contain no personal data and thus cannot serve to identify users. When you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, both we and Google can tell that you clicked on an ad and proceeded to the relevant page from there.
Each Google AdWords advertiser has a different cookie. Thus cookies cannot be tracked using the website of an AdWords advertiser.
The information obtained by means of the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for the AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. Advertisers can thus learn about the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. However, advertisers do not obtain any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in such tracking, you can opt out of it by disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in the settings of your browser. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

10. Google Maps
We use Google Maps to show interactive maps and routes and directions to our locations. Google Maps is a web mapping service provided by Google.
When using Google Maps on our website, user information including your IP address and geographical addresses (locations) entered when using the route planner function will be transferred to Google's servers in the USA. If you visit a page of our website featuring Google Maps, your browser will establish a direct connection with Google’s servers. Map content is transmitted directly from Google to your browser and is integrated by the browser into the website. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the recording of data by Google in the process. To our knowledge, among these data are at least the following:
- Date and time of the visit on the relevant page;
- internet address or URL of the page;
- IP address;
- locations entered in the route planner.
We do not have any influence on the further processing and usage of the data by Google and thus cannot be held accountable for it in any way.
If you do not want Google to collect, process or use data about you while you are using our website, you can deactivate JavaScript in the settings of your browser. In this case, however, you will not be able to use the map features of the website.
For further information on the purpose and extent of data collection, processing and usage by Google and your relevant rights and setting options to protect your privacy, please consult Google’s privacy policy declaration: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
By using our website, you consent to the processing of your data by Google Maps’ route planner in the manner described above and for the purposes described above.
11. Hotjar
Our website uses Hotjar, a web analytics service by Hotjar Ltd (“Hotjar”). Hotjar is a European company headquartered in Malta (Hotjar Ltd, Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta). The Hotjar software enables us to track the events on our website (so-called “heatmaps”). For example, the tool allows us to determine how users scroll and which buttons they push how often. Furthermore, the software enables us to gather feedback directly from the users. In this way we receive valuable information that helps us improve the speed and customer-friendliness of our website.
We pay particular attention to protection of your personal data in connection with the use of this tool. We can determine only the buttons on which you click, the path of your cursor, how far you scroll, the size of the screen of your device, the type of the device and browser you use, your location (country only) and the preferred language in which to present our website.
You can prevent Hotjar from operating by means of a “Do Not Track Header”, so that no data about your visit on our website are recorded. Detailed instructions with specific information for your browser are available at https://www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out.
12. Transfer of your data
Data you enter in the contact form are encrypted for transfer to our server. These data are not saved on your computer (no use of cookies etc.). Despite encryption, there is no absolute guarantee as to the security of your data. For their processing, the server forwards the data entered in the contact form by e-mail. Such e-mails are not encrypted, and the use of e-mail technology is not fully secure. E-mails may fail to be transmitted. In the process of transmission, e-mails may leave the country even if both sender and receiver are located in Switzerland. Confidentiality of e-mails cannot be guaranteed if encryption is flawed or not used at all. Non-encrypted e-mails are thus unsuitable for transmitting confidential information. By using the contact form or by sending us an e-mail, you consent to communication via e-mail, acknowledging the risks described.
13. Storage of your data
Our website is hosted by Weserve AG (“Weserve”), Liebefeld, Switzerland. The host servers are located in Switzerland, are physically accessible only to Weserve and are protected against unauthorised access as well as possible. You have a right to free of charge information and rectification regarding the data stored about you at any time. Please feel free to contact us in this regard. For our contact address, see section 2 of this data privacy notice.
15. Revocation and deletion
You can revoke your consent to this data privacy notice and request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Please feel free to contact us in this regard. For our contact address, see pos. 2 of this data privacy notice.
In the case of a deletion request, we will freeze and block your profile. Please note, however, that we are bound by fiscal and commercial law to store transaction records for a minimum of 10 years. Personal data contained in these records can be neither deleted nor edited. Your deletion request will thus be effective only with regard to the future handling of such data.
If at the time of receipt of your revocation or deletion request contractual relations are pending, your personal data will continue being processed until contract processing is completed. Revocation of your consent to our data privacy policies explicitly does not affect the processing of pending contractual relations and constitutes no reason for extraordinary termination.
16. Revisions to this data privacy notice
Changes made to this notice are valid from the point in time of publication on our website. Processing of personal data collected under previous data privacy policies proceeds according to the present notice.
We reserve the right to make changes to the present data privacy notice at any time and to inform our customers about these changes in suitable ways.
